Near Ottawa, Woolsey’s 100 acres of mixed forest plays host to an extensive trail system for campers to explore. Our waterfront borders the Ottawa River and is a great place to cool off with a swim, play on the water trampoline or learn row boating, canoeing, kayaking or boardsailing. A beautiful sandy beach provides plenty of opportunity for games and sand castles. Our cabins are surrounded by open grassy area’s which allow for girls to play and enjoy being outside. Woolsey has been creating happy camper memories for 80 years!

Since 1938, Camp Opemikon has served the camping needs of more than half a million members of the Scouting family. The camp is owned and operated by Scouts Canada, Voyageur Council, and is one of the finest residential Scout camps in Canada. Campers from other parts of Canada and around the world are welcome.
This camp is located on the southern tip of the Canadian Shield on Christie Lake, 100 km southwest of Ottawa. This idyllic camp on more than 200 acres of rugged terrain, nestled among three pristine lakes, provides the perfect Scouting adventure away from busy roads and crowded cities. A large, modern kitchen and dining hall provides campers with wholesome, nutritious meals in a pleasant atmosphere.
Camp Opemikon offers awesome outdoor fun for boys and girls, ages 5 to 16. Our residential programs range from introductory camps for first time overnight campers to specialized camps in backpacking, paddling, and wilderness canoe trips. Swimming, paddleboats, archery, hiking, crafts, pioneering, rock climbing, ropes courses, campfires, Carnival and OPE Talent nights are all here at Camp Opemikon! EVERYONE is welcomed at OPE, both registered Scouting members and non-members looking for a great summer adventure!
